About

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) is an American technology company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company is one of the ten largest semiconductor manufacturers globally, producing various integrated circuits for electronics producers. Its facilities are in locations such as Mexico, China, India and the Philippines. In 2011, Texas Instruments acquired the chip manufacturer National Semiconductor, which specialised in analogue devices. The company is running multiple pilots to reduce water consumption, such as projects in 2015 which will save 12% of its annual water use.

In November 2021, Texas Instrumentsannounced four additional plants in Sherman, potentially amounting to $30 billion in investment. Construction of the first and second fabs will begin in 2022, with some production capacity brought online as early as 2025.
