As wastewater treatment technology of a semiconductor fab is a constantly evolving due to advances in so sophisticated processes, materials and complex additives, however fab expansion bottlenecks are created by capacity restraints in terms of wastewater treatment time and hydraulic load. This article demonstrates conventional treatment challenges, considers alternative concepts for the treatment and reclaim of wastewater containing submicron particles.
