Who gave the best presentation at UPM 2023? The best presentations from the previous year were announced at UltraFacility 2024 - here's a rundown of who made the cut. Congratulations to all involved!
At the UltraFacility 2024 Conference, one presentation was awarded a trophy from each of the conference strands.
For the Environmental Sustainability strand, the best presentation award went to Rudy Labban of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions for 'Azoles removal from CMP wastewater - Oxidation vs Novel Complexation Method'. Labban’s presentation delved into existing azoles removal techniques such as oxidation-based methods, comparing them with the process of introducing a novel chemical agent for azoles removal.
In the Facilities Growth strand, the award for best presentation went to Andreas Neuber of Applied Materials and Bob McIntosh of Enviro-Energy Solutions for 'Energy and water use efficiency considerations in Ultrapure and wastewater system design and operation for semiconductor fabs'. This presentation proposed KPIs and calculation methods to comprise a holistic model that can inform energy efficiency improvements and support decision-making capabilities.
The best presentation award for the High Purity Environments strand went to Larry Zazzera of CT Associates for his work on 'Identification and Management of Potential Particle Precursors for Mixed Bed Ion Exchange'. Zazzera, along with co-authors Stefan Huber (DOC-Labor), Gary van Schooneveld (CT Associates), and Bonnie Marion (FTD Solutions), shared findings of how SAC and SBA resin extracts may react upon drying which shed new light on how polishing mixed beds release potential particle precursors.
Congratulations to the winners of the UPM 2023 Best Presentation Awards!
